This group project to create a new community library for Smyrna, TN was an interesting challenge was the site itself was small an narrow and the style of the local community was predominantly vernacular brick. To give the building some style without taking it too far out from the fabric of the community, we dipped into Art Nouveau. This style's focus on making fluid, organic shapes out of hard materials was the edge needed to make it feel unique in the area.
