Boundless Collection

The Boundless Collection is a place where I store those projects, sketches, art pieces, and experiences I've collected while at Belmont University that weren't part of my portfolio projects or even completely outside the architecture program.
Nashville Arcade, 2025

Materials: HB pencil on medium tooth sketch pad

Location: Nashville, TN

A sketch of the Nashville Arcade.  The Arcade, built in 1902, was Nashville's first covered shopping area.  This roofed gallery was designed by Thompson, Gibel, and Asmus based on an arcade in Milan, Italy.  The unique Palladian facades on the exterior of each end as well as the delightful Art Deco storefronts inside make this a unqiue architectural experience in Nashville.

Rosenbaum House, 2025

Materials: Micro-Pen (various), Ohuhu alcohol markers,

92lb bright white paper

Location: Belmont University, Nashville, TN

As part of a class trip for Studio 4, we visited the Rosenbaum House in Florence, AL.  This Usonian house by Frank Lloyd Wright is a prime example of his Pre-War work.  The whole house was amazing and full of unique moments.  In specific one of my favorite moments from this home was in what I’m calling the Corner Bedroom. In the Southwest corner of the garden, a bedroom sits with one of Wright's unique corner windows. Two full-light doors open into the lower side of the garden and the room is filled with natural light. Specifically though, the light coming through creates a little optical illusion wherein a tightly bound shadow forms a little arrowhead touching the bottom of the glass in the corner window. A second, less distinct one sits at the top pointing down as well. It’s almost as if they’re pointing to the perfectly framed view of the tree and water feature that sit prominently in the garden.

Belmont Campus, 2025

Materials: Mechanical pencil, note book

Location: Belmont University, Nashville, TN

As part of a class, we were asked to walk through some of the alley spaces on campus and sketch.  These areas, even though simply alleys, still had architectural thought built into their layout and design.  The spaces were used thoughtfully and made to maximize the spaces students could enjoy near their dorms.

Plaster Project, 2025

Materials: Plaster of Paris, Silicone rubber form

Location: Belmont University, Nashville, TN

While technically a part of a Studio, this project was non-traditional and outside the usual production drawings and model making.  Starting with a poem, "The Rose that grew from concrete" by Tupac Shakur, we developed three conceptual ideas.  We were then asked to refine these concepts into architectural words, ones with action to them.  With these words in mind, we started developing the idea of a form that embodied these words and concepts.  My words (Growth, Repetition, and Shift) brought about a meta form of geometric shapes that once fitted together created a circular, turning shape.  The form was made by first building it in Rhino 3D, exporting it to be 3D printed at Belmont's Fab Lab.  Afterwards, I created a box, placed the printed form in, and filled it with silicone rubber.  Once that had set, I pulled out the printed form and poured in the plaster.  It came out very clean and I ended up keeping the rough finish.
